Fix it in the Mix was a labor of love on my part. I have admired Paul Hornsby since the early 1970s , when his production earned gold and platinum sales for the Marshall Tucker Band and Charlie Daniels. Our book is about all of his great work as a producer and as a musician., as well as his early life and family. Paul was also in The Hourglass with Gregg and Duane Allman prior to the forming of the Allman Brothers Band. His story is facinating and fun! We are thrilled that Charlie Daniels wrote our foreword. (RIP Charlie, we miss you!)

"Paul's work has stood the test of time and some of the records he produced in those pioneering days are mainstays on classic radio. I am so glad that the chief chronicler of the genre, Michael Buffalo Smith has undertaken the telling of his story, the story of an Alabama country boy who played such a significant role in my early career. Thanks Paul."

- Charlie Daniels

"If not for Paul, I would never have been able to have the career I’ve had. He is still my hero and one of my best friends—thanks, Paul!"

Chuck Leavell, musical director and keyboardist for the Rolling Stones and former member of The Allman Brothers Band

"I think the world of Paul and I am so glad his story has been written. It’s a story that deserves to be told."

—Paul T. Riddle, original drummer for The Marshall Tucker Band

"Fix it in the Mix has chronicled a fascinating story of Paul Hornsby’s life as a musician and acclaimed record producer."

—Willie Perkins, former road manager for The Allman Brothers Band and author of No Saints, No Saviors

"Paul Hornsby is the complete package when it comes to Southern Rock, and this book tells the tale!"

—David Cantonwine, bassist for the band Eric Quincy Tate

“In the early 70’s, Paul Hornsby set the southern music industry in Macon, GA on its toes. A musical giant in his own right and stellar record producer for Capricorn, he brought the best out of artists who are now internationally known American icons. The work he produced have stood the test of time - true American classics. Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker and others applauded this man’s work and friendship– great read from the backwoods of Alabama to the inside story of Capricorn Records!”

-Sandy “Bluesky” Wabegijig, former wife of Dickey Betts and the inspiration for his son, "Blue Sky"
